Perth Ghost Hunting 2014

Went out in search of ghosts last night. Tried the first jail where a 15yr old was hung (reportedly falsely), tried the local asylum, and we even toured through the Old Fremantle Prison where it’s said that most of Perth’s Ghosts hang out. Scary stuff that was!!

Anyway, below are a few shots taken while we were out and about.

Central Perth 1 Jan 2014

Slept in on Jan 1 which meant by the time we’d taken a 5min free bus ride from our hotel to the central hub, some of the eateries were beginning to open for breakfast 🙂

These photos were taken as my shopaholic travelling companions perused all the fine shops that were open. Hours of fun 🙂

Short trip to Freo

Despite some of us feeling slightly “blah” and worse the wear from our hike up Baldwin’s Bluff on the hottest day we’ve had on this trip to Perth so far, we ventured out to Fremantle or “Freo” as the locals call it for a bit of a look around.

A good chance for me to do some driving around the Munster / Freemantle area too so we scouted out the best route to the Old Freemantle Prison in prep for a tourist stop there later in the week. That might have been because I took a wrong turn but that’s a story for another day – forgot to bring the Navman.

All very tiring of course so we popped in to a delightful café called “il Cibo” in Market St.

After which we obviously needed a bit of a walk. This of course provided the perfect opportunity for my companions to do a little shopping so while they continued looking in the varied clothing and knick knack shops, I admired the local Church and Post Office and tinkered with my camera settings. Started the day with the ISO turned way up way too loud…

That about did it for us though so we had to head back home for a relax and some rather nice Limoncello that we’d prepared earlier 🙂

Really impressed with the food and coffee here. We were heading to Ikea from Bertram and decided we needed coffee first. Use “Urbanspoon” Rachel urged, so off I went to download the app as we drove. Sure enough, the first place it recommended as we headed towards the coast was Little Sisto so we took a punt and managed to get a car park right outside. Interior very nice and modern with a cute little courtyard outage back and clean loos. Will go here again if making another Ikea trip.
